Glaucoma affects 3 million Americans today, but only half of persons with Glaucoma know they have the disease. In recognition of January as Glaucoma Awareness Month, NOSA launched a national glaucoma awareness initiative during the month of January.
As part of the initiative members were encouraged to organize volunteer events within their communities to raise awareness of glaucoma as well as utilize social media to educate their friends and family about the disease. We are proud to say that we were able to bring together hundreds of students from across the country to make the 2017 Glaucoma Awareness Initiative a huge success, having reached thousands of people.
